Houston in July
Not the best time
Peak suffering season with temperatures that make you question human settlement patterns. Only visit if you're getting married here or have a very compelling business reason.
Weather
July cranks up the misery with 36°C days and 26°C nights that offer no relief. Humidity makes everything feel tropical in the worst way. About 9 rainy days bring flooding risks but little cooling.

- •Avoid downtown parking garages - they turn into ovens
All Months
October through April gives you Houston's sweet spot — warm days, cool evenings, and manageable humidity. December and January can surprise you with actual cold fronts, but you'll still see 70-degree days mixed in. March and April bloom with azaleas in River Oaks and perfect weather for outdoor festivals.
Summer is brutal. We're talking 95+ degrees with humidity that makes the air feel thick as soup from May through September. But hotel rates drop 40% and you'll have pools to yourself. Just plan indoor activities during peak afternoon heat.
Avoid late August through October if possible — hurricane season brings flooding risks and general weather chaos. Harvey in 2017 showed how quickly things can go sideways. Spring break (March) and rodeo season (late February/early March) jack up prices and crowds significantly.
