Orange Beach in January
Good time to visit
January is for locals and budget travelers who don't mind cooler weather. You'll have the beaches mostly to yourself, but swimming is out of the question for most people.
Weather
January brings cool, crisp mornings with highs that barely reach the low 60s. Expect occasional rain showers but nothing like the summer downpours. The Gulf waters are too chilly for most people, but the beaches are practically empty.

January Tips
- •Pack layers - mornings are genuinely cold but afternoons warm up nicely
- •Hotel rates are at their absolute lowest, sometimes 60% off summer prices
- •Many beachfront restaurants have limited hours or close entirely
All Months
March through May gives you perfect weather without summer crowds. The Gulf water hits 75 degrees by April, and hotel rates stay reasonable. Summer brings families and higher prices, but also the best fishing and water sports conditions. September and October offer the sweet spot — warm water, fewer crowds, and hurricane season winding down. Just avoid July and August unless you love 90-degree heat and packed beaches. Hurricane season runs June through November, but most storms miss Alabama. Still, book refundable accommodations during peak hurricane months. Spring Break hits in March, but Orange Beach stays calmer than other Gulf Coast destinations.
