Orange Beach in October

Great time to visit

October rivals April as Orange Beach's most pleasant month. Great weather, manageable crowds, and reasonable prices make this a smart traveler's secret weapon.

Weather

October brings Orange Beach back to life with highs in the comfortable low 80s and noticeably less humidity. Rain becomes sporadic rather than daily, and evenings are genuinely pleasant for the first time since May. The Gulf retains summer warmth but feels refreshing rather than bath-like.

October Tips

  • This is arguably the year's best weather - take advantage of outdoor activities
  • Book early for the National Shrimp Festival - it draws huge crowds
  • Perfect weather for Gulf State Park activities and beach walks

All Months

March through May gives you perfect weather without summer crowds. The Gulf water hits 75 degrees by April, and hotel rates stay reasonable. Summer brings families and higher prices, but also the best fishing and water sports conditions. September and October offer the sweet spot — warm water, fewer crowds, and hurricane season winding down. Just avoid July and August unless you love 90-degree heat and packed beaches. Hurricane season runs June through November, but most storms miss Alabama. Still, book refundable accommodations during peak hurricane months. Spring Break hits in March, but Orange Beach stays calmer than other Gulf Coast destinations.
