Orange Beach in March

Great time to visit

March hits the sweet spot of decent weather without summer crowds or prices. The Gulf is still too cool for most swimmers, but everything else starts coming alive.

Weather

March marks the real beginning of Orange Beach season. Temperatures climb into the comfortable 70s most days, though mornings can still be chilly. Rain becomes less predictable - you might get a few gorgeous weeks followed by a stormy stretch.

March Tips

  • This is when smart travelers book their summer stays at lower rates
  • Pack both shorts and pants - weather can be unpredictable
  • Restaurant patios start reopening with full schedules

All Months

March through May gives you perfect weather without summer crowds. The Gulf water hits 75 degrees by April, and hotel rates stay reasonable. Summer brings families and higher prices, but also the best fishing and water sports conditions. September and October offer the sweet spot — warm water, fewer crowds, and hurricane season winding down. Just avoid July and August unless you love 90-degree heat and packed beaches. Hurricane season runs June through November, but most storms miss Alabama. Still, book refundable accommodations during peak hurricane months. Spring Break hits in March, but Orange Beach stays calmer than other Gulf Coast destinations.
