Broome in April

Great time to visit

April marks the beginning of Broome's magic season with perfect weather and manageable crowds. This is when the town wakes up from its wet season slumber and everything starts working properly again.

Weather

April delivers Broome's golden weather as the dry season kicks in properly. Daytime temperatures hit a perfect 32°C while nights cool to a comfortable 20°C, and humidity drops to bearable levels around 60%. Rain becomes rare, with clear blue skies dominating.

April Tips

  • Book accommodation now as prices jump significantly from March lows
  • Perfect month for 4WD trips to Cape Leveque and remote beaches
  • Pack layers as the temperature difference between day and night becomes noticeable

All Months

Broome has two seasons — the Dry and the Wet. The Dry runs April through October, and that's when you want to be here. Temperatures sit around 25-30°C, humidity stays low, and rain is basically nonexistent. Peak season is May through September when accommodation prices double and you need to book months ahead. The shoulder months of April and October offer the best balance — good weather, smaller crowds, and reasonable prices. But here's what they don't tell you about the Wet season (November to March) — yes, it's hot and humid, but the storms are spectacular and accommodation is half price. Just know that some roads become impassable and tour operators shut down. Cyclone season runs December through March, so factor that risk into your planning.
