Broome in March
Not the best time
March teases you with the promise of better weather to come, but you're still dealing with heat and humidity that makes sightseeing uncomfortable. Better to wait a few more weeks for the sweet spot of April.
Weather
March marks the gradual end of wet season, though temperatures remain high at 33°C during the day and 24°C at night. Humidity starts dropping slightly to around 70%, and rainfall becomes less frequent but still significant. The heat feels marginally more bearable as the month progresses.

March Tips
- •Wait until late March if possible as conditions improve significantly toward month-end
- •Roads to remote attractions may still be cut off from earlier wet season damage
- •Hotel rates start climbing as the season transitions, so book early April instead
All Months
Broome has two seasons — the Dry and the Wet. The Dry runs April through October, and that's when you want to be here. Temperatures sit around 25-30°C, humidity stays low, and rain is basically nonexistent. Peak season is May through September when accommodation prices double and you need to book months ahead. The shoulder months of April and October offer the best balance — good weather, smaller crowds, and reasonable prices. But here's what they don't tell you about the Wet season (November to March) — yes, it's hot and humid, but the storms are spectacular and accommodation is half price. Just know that some roads become impassable and tour operators shut down. Cyclone season runs December through March, so factor that risk into your planning.
