July Tips

  • Book accommodation 6 months ahead - this is absolute peak season
  • Early morning beach walks require warm layers as it gets genuinely cold
  • Perfect conditions for multi-day Kimberley tours if you can handle the crowds

All Months

Broome has two seasons — the Dry and the Wet. The Dry runs April through October, and that's when you want to be here. Temperatures sit around 25-30°C, humidity stays low, and rain is basically nonexistent. Peak season is May through September when accommodation prices double and you need to book months ahead. The shoulder months of April and October offer the best balance — good weather, smaller crowds, and reasonable prices. But here's what they don't tell you about the Wet season (November to March) — yes, it's hot and humid, but the storms are spectacular and accommodation is half price. Just know that some roads become impassable and tour operators shut down. Cyclone season runs December through March, so factor that risk into your planning.
