September Tips

  • Crowds start thinning and prices begin dropping from peak season highs
  • Excellent month for pearl farm tours as the water is still comfortable for diving
  • Book quickly as many operators reduce schedules after the peak season rush

All Months

Broome has two seasons — the Dry and the Wet. The Dry runs April through October, and that's when you want to be here. Temperatures sit around 25-30°C, humidity stays low, and rain is basically nonexistent. Peak season is May through September when accommodation prices double and you need to book months ahead. The shoulder months of April and October offer the best balance — good weather, smaller crowds, and reasonable prices. But here's what they don't tell you about the Wet season (November to March) — yes, it's hot and humid, but the storms are spectacular and accommodation is half price. Just know that some roads become impassable and tour operators shut down. Cyclone season runs December through March, so factor that risk into your planning.
