Valencia in August
Great time to visit
August is Valencia's hottest, most expensive month with many locals on holiday. The beaches are at their best, but the heat can be intense and some favorite restaurants might be shuttered.
Weather
August intensifies the summer heat with the year's highest temperatures and virtually zero rainfall. The sun beats down relentlessly during midday hours, but sea breezes and evening cooling make it bearable. Swimming conditions are perfect.

August Tips
- •Many local restaurants close for vacation - research before you go
- •Early morning and late evening are the best times for sightseeing
- •Hotel prices peak this month - book far in advance or expect sticker shock
All Months
April through October gives you the best weather, but here's the thing about timing in Valencia: avoid Las Fallas (March 15-19) unless you're specifically coming for it. The festival is incredible - giant sculptures, fireworks, street parties - but hotel prices triple and the city becomes absolute chaos.
May and June are perfect. The weather hits 25°C, the beaches are swimmable, and you beat the summer crowds. September and October work just as well - the sea stays warm from summer, but the tourist masses have gone home.
Winter isn't terrible if you're on a budget. January temperatures hover around 15°C, many restaurants close for vacation, but you'll have the City of Arts and Sciences practically to yourself. Just don't expect beach weather.
