Valencia in February

Not the best time

Still Valencia's shoulder season with bargain prices and moody skies. Perfect if you want the city to yourself and don't mind carrying an umbrella.

Weather

February continues the cool, wet pattern with occasional sunny breaks that remind you spring isn't far off. Morning fog sometimes rolls in from the Mediterranean. The air feels crisp but not bitter cold.

February Tips

  • Visit the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias when rain threatens - it's mostly covered
  • Beach walks are lovely but bring a windbreaker
  • Restaurant terraces start reopening on sunny afternoons

All Months

April through October gives you the best weather, but here's the thing about timing in Valencia: avoid Las Fallas (March 15-19) unless you're specifically coming for it. The festival is incredible - giant sculptures, fireworks, street parties - but hotel prices triple and the city becomes absolute chaos. May and June are perfect. The weather hits 25°C, the beaches are swimmable, and you beat the summer crowds. September and October work just as well - the sea stays warm from summer, but the tourist masses have gone home. Winter isn't terrible if you're on a budget. January temperatures hover around 15°C, many restaurants close for vacation, but you'll have the City of Arts and Sciences practically to yourself. Just don't expect beach weather.
