Events & Festivals

  • Nit de San Joan (Summer Solstice) - June 23-24
  • Festival Internacional de Benicàssim - late June

June Tips

  • Beach season is fully underway - arrive early at Malvarosa to claim space
  • Air conditioning becomes essential - budget hotels without it get uncomfortable
  • The famous Nit de San Joan beach parties go until dawn

All Months

April through October gives you the best weather, but here's the thing about timing in Valencia: avoid Las Fallas (March 15-19) unless you're specifically coming for it. The festival is incredible - giant sculptures, fireworks, street parties - but hotel prices triple and the city becomes absolute chaos. May and June are perfect. The weather hits 25°C, the beaches are swimmable, and you beat the summer crowds. September and October work just as well - the sea stays warm from summer, but the tourist masses have gone home. Winter isn't terrible if you're on a budget. January temperatures hover around 15°C, many restaurants close for vacation, but you'll have the City of Arts and Sciences practically to yourself. Just don't expect beach weather.
