Valencia in March

Good time to visit

March explodes with Las Fallas, Valencia's most famous festival featuring massive paper sculptures and fireworks. Expensive and chaotic, but absolutely spectacular if you can handle the crowds.

Weather

March marks the turning point as temperatures climb and rain becomes less frequent. You'll get your first taste of proper Mediterranean sunshine, though evenings still require a light jacket. The humidity starts dropping too.

March Tips

  • Book accommodation well ahead for Las Fallas - prices triple during the festival
  • The festival gets incredibly crowded and loud - consider staying outside the city center
  • Bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noise during Las Fallas week

All Months

April through October gives you the best weather, but here's the thing about timing in Valencia: avoid Las Fallas (March 15-19) unless you're specifically coming for it. The festival is incredible - giant sculptures, fireworks, street parties - but hotel prices triple and the city becomes absolute chaos. May and June are perfect. The weather hits 25°C, the beaches are swimmable, and you beat the summer crowds. September and October work just as well - the sea stays warm from summer, but the tourist masses have gone home. Winter isn't terrible if you're on a budget. January temperatures hover around 15°C, many restaurants close for vacation, but you'll have the City of Arts and Sciences practically to yourself. Just don't expect beach weather.
